The remote does not work for the lights.Just what my daughter wanted. They're perfect.Good quality and worth for pricePerfect ambience for small apartment setting… good value!Bought 3 boxes for outdoors, everything here says outdoor and just received them and the box says "indoor". Can anyone tell me if they can be used outdoors?I added some ivy leaves and they look great! Love these lights. Will probably be buying them again for other places in my houseI was expecting them to run off of sunlight not to have to be plugged in. If you don’t have an outside electrical outlet don’t buy them.Christmas treeFabulous string of 300 LED lights which will adorn my bookshelves, and as I like lights all year round, and these are mains powered they will be used indoors.LED lights are amazing. When I think back to my childhood and the lights that were brought out on the run-up to Christmas. We all held our breath would they work? If they didn't what was wrong with them? Could they be fixed, or could we afford a new string? Years later, when my husband and I ran our own shop, we had a customer who came every December for years with the same ancient string of lights, asking them to be repaired. There's only so much soldering an ancient relic will take, and so one year we had to break the news that it was time to invest in a new set. None of that nonsense with LEDs, they just seem to go on and on for ever.These lights have a lovely warm glow, and although there are eight different settings, many of which might induce an epileptic fit, we keeps ours on the Steady setting – no twinkling, Fading or Flashing for us, thank you. The remote control is handy, but we haven't used the timer yet.Really good value for well made, indoor, or outdoor if that is your wish, lights for all year round, not just for Christmas.A nice set of 200 LED lights (best for smaller trees up to around 4ft 6) or 300 LED lights (best for trees of 5 or 6 ft), the number of lights depending upon which set you have selected. They are mains powered LED lights so there’s no need for batteries, and because they are low voltage LED there’s little worry of fire (they stay cool) and you should find low running costs, especially if you are replacing a set with traditional bulbs (more important than ever in 2021 and after…).The lead before the first light is around 6ft 6in - good enough to run to a plug a couple of yards away, but not so much that it makes a trip hazard for you.The set gives you 8 light ‘patterns’ - the sequence in which they operate. These are:1.Combination (I wasn’t that clear how this differed from sequential, to be honest)2.Steady On (remains on without any flashing or ‘twinkling’)3.Slow fade (fades in slowly)4.Wave5. Slow glow6.Chasing/ Flash (quite energetic. For me, a little too much so - but it’s only an option)7.Sequential (cycles through them)8.Twinkle/ FlashThe lights also remain set to your last used choice when next switched on, useful if - like me - you have a favourite (I tend to prefer the less ‘frantic’ ones).The remote also allows you to set a timer from 6 hours to 18 hours - they can switch off automatically after you’ve gone to bed if you so wish.These are an excellent, warm white/cream coloured set, and don’t have to be just for Christmas. If left without the twinkling function, they work well around a gilt picture frame, a bed-head, or anywhere you feel is short of a bit of pizazz. My sister’s girls are in their late teens and early twenties and use these kinds of lights where I might’ve put a small table lamp - they run them around mirrors and up and down a feature wall.And because they don’t get hot, there’s no worry about fire, and because they are LED, you don’t have to worry about expensive running costs.A great set of lights, and thoroughly recommended for smaller trees (200 LED set) or medium trees (300 LED set).These are mains powered fairy lights , so no need for batteries or worrying if the batteries have run out because you forgot to turn them off….30m of lights and a 6.5ft lead which is quite good (nothing more annoying when things have a short lead and you’re struggling to plug in and have to hunt down an extension lead)8 light modes and light function, 1.Combination 2.Steady On 3.Slow fade 4.In wave 5.Slo glo 6.Chasing/ Flash 7.Sequential 8.Twinkle/ Flash. Memory Function. Once the mode is selected, the light will work in this mode next time they’re turned on.One of the great things about these lights is the timer function, 6 hours - 18hours… this can be activated with the remote and this i found to be really handy especially as I have a terrible memory and am always forgetting to turn off plug in lights, so no need to worry now, as I can set these to automatically turn off after so many hours…The lights are low voltage led light - so also good on electric - good old LED!I actually use these in my daughters bedroom as they not only look attractive and bring a bit of twinkling magic to her room, but act well as night lights…and these are ideal with the remote to turn them off and on, the different light settings and the timer as my daughter can fall asleep with them on and I don’t have to worry about them being on all night when the timer is set to automatically turn them off….These lights give off a nice cosy warm glow and seem to be of good quality for the price. Will definitely be buying more for my Xmas tree!
