I bought these for my classroom and planned to use them with a smart plug. The only issue there is, is that it has multiple settings and the default is a rapid blinking setting, so whenever I turn on the lights with the smart plug remote, it goes back to the default instead of the stead light setting I actually want. It totally defeats the purpose of the smart plug because I have to go to the plug anyway to change it back to the steady light setting. Besides that, I like the color of the lights (a warm soft glow) if anything it could be a bit brighter but besides that, all the bulbs work great and it even comes with two replacements. It's just the settings that are my biggest issue with these lights and I would have expected a setting memory at the very least for what they cost.I had a similar set of lights with several blinking options and one solid option when I only wanted the lights to stay on solid. My old set died after a few rain storms, and the lights' caps had been falling off since purchasing them. This replacement set is a solid string of light only and of better quality than my last set so I am much happier with this purchase. The light is a nice warm soft glow that puts out a lot of light for my needs. I take them down when not in use so I don't make the mistake of the elements ruining them but I am sure if you have them on a covered patio they would be fine left outside.I love these lights. They’re easy to put up I used command strips. It’s so relaxing to have them lit at night when I’m at home detoxing from the day. They project w nice soft light. No remote control but I was thinking of getting a smart plug to use with my Alexa.These are a great value if you only want one or two sets connected in series, but the third set was considerably dimmer than the prior two. I can only imagine the fourth and fifth sets would be even dimmer, if not completely dark.I’ve bought these twice and the first time, they were perfect! But the second string I bought doesn’t have a remote or the memory function so every time I turn them on, they flash instead of a steady light.The lights themselves look really nice. But they discontinued the remote control and use a button on the plug now. The button doesn't have an off setting, it just cycles through the different light patterns. Unfortunately it's all but useless as a nursery night light when I have to physically plug them in each time to use them (with a newborn in my arms). Bought a similar product that had a remote and didn't read the details to realize that this product was not the same.I bought these to hang under my lift bed to add some light and oh boy, do they! Brighter than I expected, I can even read a book with them on. Beware though, carefully select which length you want, as I didn't, and now I have a lot of left over lights I have to figure out what to do with.Beware ~ if they seem to not work you just need to screw the bulbs in tighter so they remain waterproof.
