I bought and used these lights for the 2021 Christmas season (November '21 - January '22). They worked very well and have an excellent variety of settings. I would recommend them for inside or outside use. They work well outside on a bush or mailbox. I used them outside on a 4' x 4' bush. Our 2021 November/December was warmer than usual and we got rain instead of snow. These lights had no problems being out in the rain. In fact, I read another review that said they were not waterproof, so I enclosed the battery case in a plastic sandwich bag with a twisty tie. That worked fine until I changed the batteries and didn't tighten the twisty tie enough and the entire bag filled with water the next time it rained! The battery case sat in a full bag of water for days until I discovered it and the lights continued to work fine, and have worked fine, ever since. January was much colder than normal and the lights did fine in 20 degree (F) weather as well. The light bulbs are clear and the color comes from the LED. I used the timing program (6 hrs on, 18 hrs off). Once you set it they come on at the same time each night and automatically go off after 6 hours. Using this option with the combination mode the 3 AA batteries lasted for about 3 - 4 weeks. After that, they start to dim a bit and if you have them on a flash mode, the flashing slows down a little. They are bright and have very nice color.
